A gang of bank robbers fight their way out of a zombie-infested London. This British movie is about a group of inept criminals who decide to rob a bank so they can save their grandfather's retirement home from being demolished by developers. Meanwhile on another building site some workers dig up an old graveyard and they get bitten by the "undead" which sets off a chain reaction. Then the bank robbers are cornered by the police while in the process of the robbery, but when they exit they find that they are all dead as a result of the horde of zombies. They have to get to the retirement home before the zombies do! Only the Brits could come up with a title like Cockney's vs Zombies.

Its down to earth, humour filled zombie killing fun with a British East End flavour. The story starts a little slowly and there are occasional lapses in the momentum but by and large, this film is very entertaining and well worth your time if you like the zombie genre.

The acting is excellent with a very strong cast including some genuine British acting veterans. For those like me who grew up with British comedy The Good Life there is the last film appearance of wonderful actor Richard Briers (Tom Good) at his low profile, self effacing best.

Eight out of ten from me. Most pieces of zombie fiction (lately) are done in order to cash in on the craze and, because of these reasons, most are awful and reek of a lack of effort. I worried this would be one of those movies but I was so wrong.

"CvZ" is basically a Guy Ritchie film with zombies added to it and it works so well. The story is solid, the zombies look great, the actors are tremendous and the characters are fun. The film is terrifically witty and funny as it perfectly balances the dark comedy elements as it lampoons zombie fiction while, simultaneously, honoring it.

Just an all around fun and, most importantly, funny movie! There's little that feels fresh, freaky or funny about one more batch of eccentric reactions to hungry corpses, one more attempt to creatively splatter, one more metaphor for zombie invasion.
